CLEAN UP 2010
Thanks to all who helped with the clean up in the Whittier Neighborhood. We hope all of you cleaned up your yards and cleaned out your house of unwanted items. The weather sure helped this year as we had a nonstop line up of cars and trucks waiting to dump off the unwanted items from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. We even had to turn away 2 late comers but did give them a free pass to the dump.
This year the statistics were as follows:
2010 | LOADS | TONS |
|---|
| City C&D (Rubble) | 8 | 49 |
|---|
| City Yard Waste | 2 | 4 |
|---|
| City Wood Waste | 6 | 9 |
|---|
| City Tires | 1 | 3 |
|---|
| City Appliances | 2 | 6 |
|---|
Previous years the tonnage was less. We think maybe it had to do with weather was cold and rainy the last couple of years. The first year the weather very hot and we learned a lot from the first year. We hope that our residents are not hoarding things to throw as we are not sure if next year we will be doing a cleanup. We are lacking on volunteers from the neighborhood to step forward. The same group has done it for the last 4 years. If you would like to help next time, please send me an email. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
OUR THANKS
Our THANKS and appreciation first and foremost goes to Novak Sanitation (for the hauling), East Side Lutheran Church (for the mailing and insurance coverage for the day), Dakota Auto Parts (for announcing on their sign), the City of Sioux Falls (for waiving the fees at the landfill and allowing us to have our headquarters for the clean up at the old fire station at Heritage park) and all of our sponsors who helped with the costs of the mailing and the volunteers.
