MISSION STATEMENT

We are about creating a safer environment for our children, a supportive environment for our elderly and a healthy environment for all.

We are creating a sustainable environment through five primary focus areas:

  • Cleanup
  • Beautification
  • Traffic and Safety
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Public Relations / Communications

VISION STATEMENT

To set an example of how we want a neighborhood to be safe, beautified, and unified. Through innovative ideas and solutions, we will be the neighborhood that people seek out and want to live in.

Since the creation of the neighborhood in the 19th century, we have been called, "The Working Class Neighborhood". Residents will have a pleasant and safe place to come home to after a day's work.

 PROJECTS AT A GLANCE:

Summer 2010 Street Improvements

The project is installing countdowns along Minnesota Ave, Cliff Ave, 6th St, and Sycamore Ave.  It appears that by the end of today most of the countdowns will be installed.  The project is giving Annie Sullivan, Hawthorne, Laura Wilder, and Terry Redlin schools new In-Street Yields signs; flashing beacons on Sycamore Ave, Lead Pedestrian Intervals at two signals by Annie Sullivan, and Driver Feedback signs on Sycamore and on 8th Street are also included in the project.

The majority of the work is expected to be finished by Aug 13th, but due to a couple of complications, possibly some of the countdown timers and the driver feedback signs may not yet be installed by that date.
